Excelsior Emergency Medical Training was founded in 2008 by Ed Burke as a place for friends and co-workers who needed Continuing Education or Refresher Training to be able to obtain that training without a lot of travel or schedule manipulating.  Over the years, it has grown into an educational resource for EMTs and Paramedics across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that is able to meet or exceed all expectations.  In 2020, just prior to the pandemic, Excelsior Emergency Medical Training was formed into a Limited Liability Corporation, to provide a more professional, reliable model for this already established business.

In August of 2022, we decided to rebuild the online portion of the business.  With the release of NREMT Resolution 22-06 and the revision of the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services Administrative Requirement 2-212 in August of 2022, there are no longer restrictions on the amount of distributive education that may be applied to your recertification profile.  We are working on providing a "one-stop" solution for your recertification, from continuing education and NCCR (refresher) courses to services that will do all of the tedious online filing of your application for renewal with both the NREMT and State, we've got your back to ensure that your recertification will be successful.

Services

For Providers:

  1. Continuing Education courses offered through online learning that meets the requirements of the Local and Individual components of the NREMT model
  2. American Heart Association CPR training (initial and renewal)
  3. National Core Competency Program (NCCP) training offered in both distributive (coming soon) and Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) programs
  4. Certification renewal service through our sister site EMTRenewal.com that ensures all portions of the renewal process on both the NREMT website and the Massachusetts e-Licensing website are complete, guaranteeing a successful recertification

For Ambulance Services:

  1. With almost 30 years of teaching experience and several years of NREMT Training Officer experience, we offer smaller services the option to outsource the Training Officer Role so you don't have to dedicate someone to enter your courses, approve affiliations and process renewal applications on the NREMT website
  2. Development of service specific training and filing for continuing education approval
  3. We can build and manage a hosted online database with images of your employees' credentials that meets the requirement of the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services. This database is modeled on the system currently in use by the largest Emergency Medical Service in New England (which was designed by Ed Burke)
  4. We can build and manage a custom hosted Learning Management System for your service to provide continuing education, NCCR and specialized training for your employees
  5. We can provide OEMS required Quality Assurance Reviews of BLS patient care reports. We are in the process of being able to provide this service at the ALS level as well

For General Businesses and Organizations we provide online and in-person training through our sister site ExcelsiorEMT.net offering:

  1. American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Training Courses
  2. First Responder Training (16 or 40 hour courses)
  3. Stop the Bleed training

    Available courses

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts released the 2023 version of the Statewide Treatment Protocols on January 3, 2023.  All ambulance services are required to train their employees of the changes made to the protocols prior to the implementation date of April 1, 2023.  This program is offered free to all ambulance services and EMS professionals operating in Massachusetts by Excelsior Emergency Medical Training.  You must be a registered user of this website to enroll in the course.

There is a brief quiz at the end of the presentation.  Upon successful completion of the quiz, you will receive a certificate that can be submitted to your employer.  This course is a required component of your certification as a Massachusetts provider and is not eligible for continuing education credit, so you will notice that the completion cetificate does not have an approval number.
